So, when a new art destination comes, then the hope that more people who appreciate art, soaring again. Now in the country, there is an art museum with the title of "museum of modern art", which may still be fairly rare. Its name is Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (Museum MACAN), which was inaugurated in November 2017. The foundation of this museum is formed from the personal collection of Haryanto Adikoesoemo, a figure known as a collector of Indonesian and international art since 1990. This museum was also established on haryanto's vision, with various ideal goals such as developing art appreciation in Indonesia, becoming a means to connect the Indonesian art world with international art, to developing a professional environment for art and art human resources in Indonesia. Can this museum located on Jalan Panjang, Kebon Jeruk be the answer to the soaring expectations just now? This time, me, as a writer will explore more about this museum. => Head
As previously stated, as one of the most dynamic art centers in the world, Jakarta should have an institution that is committed to showing the artistic achievements of artists in this era, providing art education programs for the public, and fostering international cultural exchanges. More than catching up, the museum is committed to carrying out these missions through regular exhibitions, educational programs, and other public agendas, aimed at developing awareness and appreciation of the arts. The backbone of Museum MACAN is Haryanto Adikoesoemo's collection of modern and contemporary art, which has been built for more than 25 years and continues to grow. In addition, the museum also collaborates with interdisciplinary artists and practitioners to present the works of commissions that are important to the people of Indonesia. => Body
According to the one of the visitors "Nice place to visit. Located on AKR Tower, West Jakarta. Perfect for me time and healing session. My favorite one is the multiverse kaleidoscope that can turn your photo as a unique photo and also The Tales of Nowhere with its fable story behind." => Quoted
In the age of social media, museums and artworks are part of objects that are considered "Instagram-worthy". Undeniably, this tendency is an integral part of the era we live in today. What museums can do is a purposeful effort to educate the public who come to the museum, to take visitors one step further in terms of art appreciation—from visual appreciation to more thorough appreciation, historically for example. => Body
According to the one of the visitors "Place is easy to find but the museum itself is tucked in what seems to be an office building. The museum is clean, health protocol is applied, and the space is serene and quiet and just nice to enjoy arts in. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of art pieces showcased when we came and there was a lot of unused and empty corners/spaces that could've been used for more art pieces. Some areas aren't quite well-lit too making the gorgeous art look sadly unnoticeable or easily forgettable by patrons. But it was a nice experience regardless. Would love to visit regularly once they add more collection into it. Oh and the souvenirs shop is nice too! A lot of affordable knick knacks to bring home." => Quoted
Education is an important part of this museum. That kind of thing we translate through public programs that we will do regularly (for example, Weekend Talks with artists and art practitioners). We hope that society can develop a broader perspective and appreciation of the arts. =>Body

Therefore, Indonesia should have an institution that is committed to showing the achievements of artists who are the benchmark of the contemporary art world today. => Tails
